Refund Policy
Waste Care Ireland

Last updated:14/01/2026

This Refund Policy applies to all products and services provided by Waste Care Ireland, including but not limited to the supply of clinical waste containers, sharps bins, hazardous waste packaging, and the collection, transport, treatment, and disposal of clinical, medical, pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste. By purchasing products or engaging our services, you agree to the terms outlined below.

  1. General principles

Due to the regulated nature of clinical and hazardous waste, refunds are subject to strict conditions to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation. Many of our products and services involve compliance with Irish and EU waste regulations, which may limit or exclude the possibility of returns or refunds once certain actions have been taken.

Refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis and, where applicable, will be processed in accordance with this policy.

  1. Supply of clinical waste containers and consumables

2.1 Non-returnable items

For health, safety, and regulatory reasons, the following items are non-returnable and non-refundable once supplied or delivered:

• Clinical waste bins, sharps containers, pharmaceutical bins, and any other waste containers once they have been opened, assembled, labelled, or used
• Any container or consumable that has been exposed to clinical, medical, pharmaceutical, or hazardous waste
• Single-use or disposable items
• Items supplied as part of a scheduled waste collection service

These items cannot be resold or reused due to contamination risk and regulatory restrictions.

2.2 Unused and unopened items

Unused and unopened items may be eligible for a refund only if all of the following conditions are met:

• The item is unused, unopened, unlabelled, and in its original packaging
• The item has not been stored in a clinical or hazardous environment
• The return request is made within 14 days of delivery
• Written approval is obtained from Waste Care Ireland before returning the item

Approved returns must be sent back at the customer’s expense unless the item was supplied incorrectly or was faulty on delivery.

A restocking fee may apply to approved returns.

  1. Waste collection and service refunds

3.1 Scheduled collections

Once a waste collection has been scheduled, refunds are subject to the following conditions:

• Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled collection may be eligible for a refund or service credit
• Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled collection are not refundable due to driver scheduling, vehicle allocation, and regulatory planning requirements
• Missed collections caused by the customer (e.g. bins not accessible, incorrect waste presentation, site closed, or non-compliance) are not eligible for a refund

3.2 Completed services

Once a waste collection, transport, treatment, or disposal service has been completed, no refund will be issued. This includes situations where waste has been collected, transported, or entered into the waste treatment process, as these actions cannot be reversed.

3.3 Service credits

At our discretion, service credits may be offered instead of a refund in cases where a service issue has occurred and Waste Care Ireland accepts responsibility.

  1. Faulty or incorrect supply

If you believe an item supplied by Waste Care Ireland is faulty or incorrect, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

Where a fault or error is confirmed:

• We may offer a replacement item, service credit, or refund
• Any refund will be limited to the cost of the affected item or service only
• Waste Care Ireland reserves the right to inspect or collect the item before issuing a refund or replacement

Damage caused by misuse, improper storage, or non-compliance with instructions is not considered a fault.

  1. Regulatory and compliance exclusions

Refunds will not be issued in circumstances where services or supplies were affected by:

• Customer non-compliance with waste segregation, packaging, or labelling requirements
• Breach of health and safety or environmental regulations by the customer
• Refusal of waste by treatment facilities due to incorrect waste classification or contamination
• Delays or additional costs arising from regulatory inspections, enforcement actions, or emergency controls

Any additional costs incurred due to non-compliance are the responsibility of the customer.

  1. Contracted and recurring services

For customers on contracts or recurring service agreements:

• Refund terms will follow the specific contract conditions agreed in writing
• Early termination of contracts may be subject to notice periods, minimum service charges, or early termination fees
• Prepaid services are generally non-refundable once the service period has commenced

  1. How refunds are processed

Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method where possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider but typically take 5–10 business days once approved.

Refunds will not include:

• Delivery or collection charges, unless the error was caused by Waste Care Ireland
• Third-party costs or regulatory charges
• Costs incurred due to customer non-compliance

  1. How to request a refund

To request a refund, please contact us with the following information:

• Company name and contact details
• Invoice or order number
• Description of the issue
• Supporting photographs or documentation where applicable

Refund requests must be submitted in writing by email or through our official contact channels.

  1. Policy updates

Waste Care Ireland reserves the right to amend or update this Refund Policy at any time to reflect regulatory changes, operational requirements, or business practices. The most current version will always apply at the time of purchase or service engagement.
